Faith-based school transport consultation – school buses
Dear Parents and Carers,
Nottinghamshire County Council has recently informed us that, due to increased financial pressures on council services, it is undertaking a review of its discretionary faith-based home-to-school transport provision. The Council has indicated that savings are required in order to balance the budget and protect essential services.
At present, the Council supports families of a faith background by offering discounted transport for pupils who need to travel some distance to attend a faith school. If your child currently receives a discounted travel pass on faith grounds, please be aware that this provision is now under review by NCC.
A public consultation will take place throughout May and June 2026, providing parents and carers with an opportunity to share their views. Any proposed changes to this provision could have a significant impact on some of our families and the wider school community.
We have been provided with a set of key messages from Nottinghamshire County Council, which are attached for your information. We strongly encourage all affected families, and those who may wish to support this provision, to participate in the consultation.
You can access the consultation via the link provided below:

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mr M. Brailsford
Headteacher
