This course will enable you to understand where English has come from, how it has changed over time, how we learn it and how it is used. There is the opportunity to discover a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts, with ample opportunity to display your  developing creative and imaginative writing skills, developing how you use language to persuade, inform, instruct and entertain. The course deepens your understanding of language acquisition and how we communicate across gender, social, occupation and regional variations.
