Y7 Academic Transition Information

As your child’s first term at the National Academy is now well under way, we would like to invite you to find out more about how you can support the academic transition of your child to secondary school. Throughout the rest of this term we will be uploading a variety of virtual presentations from members of the leadership team and heads of faculty. The focus of these presentations will be on introducing you to some fundamental academic ideas and policies so that you can help your child become an effective independent learner. Year 7 students will also be receiving student-friendly, face to face, versions of these presentations in school, so please discuss the content with your child. The videos will be available from the dates below, and will remain on the website for the remainder of the Advent Term.

The resources present a whole overview of the way we learn at National, rather than address individual progress or learning needs. Any specific concerns should be addressed by contacting the academy via your child’s tutor in the first instance.
