    Homework at The National Academy

Homework plays a vital role in student progress and personal development. At The National Academy, our homework approach is designed to be:

    • Consistent in quantity and structure across subjects
    • Accessible for all students
    • Purposeful, with exam-style tasks that build and consolidate key skills
    • Assessed, with meaningful feedback provided

    Key Stage 3 Homework

Each year group in KS3 follows a Homework Timetable, outlining which subjects set homework each week. The structure ensures:

    • A gradual increase in workload across the years
    • Clear expectations for time spent on each subject
    • A balanced approach that supports learning and independence

Failure to complete assessed homework will result in a Head of Faculty after-school detention.

(NOTE: When you see ADT homework on the timetable, this will mean either Art OR Design Technology for year 8, and BOTH Art and Design Technology for year 9).
