    Assessment & Progress Monitoring

At The National Church of England Academy, assessment is central to student success. At the start of Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, students are set ambitious targets to work towards. Progress and attainment are reviewed each term, monitored by staff, and shared with parents.

At the end of Key Stages 4 and 5, students sit external exams to measure final attainment.

    Tracking Progress

Monitoring progress is a key part of teaching and learning. If a student is not meeting expected progress, we work closely with them and their parents/carers to support improvement.

Throughout the academic year, in every subject, we:

    • Set end-of-year and end-of-key-stage targets
    • Review and report progress at least three times per year
    • Provide targeted feedback to support improvement
    • Offer opportunities to meet staff and discuss progress at AMP (Achieving My Potential) evenings, with dates published annually.
