Under normal circumstances, Open Evening is an opportunity for us to showcase the academy. It is a celebration of staff, students and all of those who contribute to our community.  Student ambassadors volunteer in great numbers to greet visitors, escort them as they tour our school and work in subject bases speaking with parents and carer about their studies.  It is often these ambassadors and the positive impression they create that are referred to in feedback at the end of the event.

In addition, teachers who attend the evening are able to share their passion for their subject and the sense of privilege they feel in being able to inspire young people through their teaching.

Sadly, the current restrictions mean that it is not possible for visitors to attend this event in the usual manner.  It has been necessary to produce online content in order to facilitate your decision-making process.  Different elements will be added to the website over four days.  Following the launch on Thursday 24th September which includes an introduction and Q and A with Mr Brailsford, our Principal, plus a virtual tour of the site and its organisation, information will be added as follows:

Friday 25th September: Pastoral and Ethos

Monday 28th September: Faculties and Teams

Tuesday 29th September: How to apply

We trust that you will find this information helpful and informative.  One of the benefits of being able to visit the academy is that you get a flavour of our values and our strengths.  This is very difficult to replicate online and if you have any questions or would like any further clarity, please email me directly on

Many thanks
