A Level success celebrated by National Church of England Academy students

Students at the National Church of England Academy in Hucknall were celebrating this morning as they received their A Level results at Hucknall Sixth Form Centre at the end of a difficult year for all students and staff.

Head of sixth form Kelly Wall joined students this morning as they opened their results and said: “Once again our students have demonstrated their dedication to learning with a great set of results. They have worked hard both here at the centre, and remotely in recent months, with great support from our dedicated staff. I am so proud of this wonderful set of students who I have seen grow, develop and achieve high academic and personal goals, and I wish them every success for the future.”

There have been a number of notable successes from individuals – top performing student at the academy was Ben M, achieving a hugely impressive set of results with three A* grades (chemistry, computer science and maths), together with an A in physics.

Other great individual successes include Henry P who achieved A*, A*, A (chemistry, history, maths) and Fiona G who scored A*, A, A, A (Extended Project Qualification, biology, English literature, psychology).

Paul Simpson, head of Hucknall Sixth Form Centre, added, “We have been so impressed by our students during their time with us – especially during the last few months that have not seen their time with us end in a traditional manner. It is testament to these talented students that they have been able to achieve such good grades and will now move on to the next exciting phase in their lives.”

Student numbers at Hucknall Sixth Form Centre (HSFC) are growing each year, with the centre having an excellent reputation in the local community and beyond. Mr Simpson added: “Students come to HSFC from all over Nottinghamshire because of the high standards of teaching, quality outcomes for all students and our wide range of courses. We still have limited availability for individuals to join us from September, and hope that these results demonstrate how the centre can support all students to achieve their goals.”
