Head Student Introduction

Welcome to National Church of England Academy.  I am Anna Raaff and Head Student for 2022-23.

As part of my role as Head Student I represent the school at events, support students, take a lead on new initiatives and lead collective worship.  So far this year, I have supported year 7 students on their first day at school, led the establishment of a second-hand uniform and equipment pop up shop, delivered collective worship to years 7 to 11 and represented the school at the Diocesan Church School Leaders Conference.

I decided to apply for the position of Head Student because I want all students to have as good an experience here as I have had. National Academy made me feel welcomed and helped me to settle in quickly when I first joined in year 7. This was one of the reasons that I decided to stay on for 6th form. Other factors in my decision to stay for years 12 and 13 were that many of the teachers at 6th form know me already and the classes sizes are quite small, so you get more time with the teacher.

What I like most about National is its vision, which is about developing students academically and personally. National creates an environment that is enjoyable for all students and allows them to learn, regardless of background or faith.
